Rev David Pickering

David was inducted as St Andrew’s minister in September 2004 having previously been seconded from the URC for a five year period to develop and manage the ecumenical Eco-Congregation Project www.ecocongregation.org designed to help churches green the life and mission of their church . Prior to that David served as minister with the North Teesside Group.

David has a vision for the church as a welcoming, inclusive community that lives and shares the love of God. David works with the team of Elders, Pastoral Care group and Pastoral Care visitors seeking to offer support and care.

David is married to Jan and they have three children. Aside from the environment and a particular concern for climate change, David enjoys cycling and for him the ideal destination is a Hebridean island. Thus far he has visited more islands than he is years old. He also has an interest in early medieval Christianity (400 – 800AD) in the Hebrides.
